Getting started
Can I send a list of small repairs?
Yes. List each repair and include your city and a few photos in your email. You do not need to separate the work into trades yourself.
What do I need for an estimate?
Send a description of the work, clear photos, approximate measurements and your city. Mention what stays, what changes and any access rules. A site visit may still be needed to confirm the scope.
Can I get a price from photos alone?
Photos and measurements help start the review. Access, material choices and work hidden behind existing finishes may still need a closer look. Confirm what the estimate includes and which items remain provisional before scheduling.
Do I need to buy the materials first?
Share any products you have chosen or already own. Before buying more, confirm dimensions, suitability and who is supplying each item. Include delivery lead times when discussing the schedule.
Planning the work
Do you work on condos and rental homes?
Yes. Tell HandyHub4U whether you are the homeowner, landlord or authorized contact. Include any condo approvals, elevator bookings or building work hours that could affect the job.
How soon can the work start?
Start dates depend on the work, site access, material availability and the appropriate trades. Share your preferred timing and any fixed deadlines. A date needs to be confirmed with the team before you arrange deliveries or access.
Do I need permits or condo approval?
Requirements depend on your property and the proposed work. Confirm the scope with your municipality and, for a condo, building management. Electrical notifications are separate from building permits. Agree who handles each approval before work starts.
What should I compare in renovation estimates?
Compare the same work, materials, preparation, disposal, finishing and access arrangements. Check taxes, exclusions, provisional items and how changes are agreed. A lower total may cover a smaller scope, so ask about differences before choosing.
